Zapier lets you connect Momenial with thousands of popular apps to automate your certification workflow. For example, you can automatically add a certificate recipient to a list in Mailchimp.

Click here for the complete list of apps to integrate with Momenial via Zapier.

This article will show you how to connect Momenial with Google Sheets. The concept explained here applies to integration with other apps, such as Teachable, Kajabi, and Typeform.

On the Momenial side

Create a Momenial account and upgrade to a paid plan. To prevent abuse, we require a paid subscription for Zapier integration.

Next, open Account Settings and click Generate in the Zapier Integration section. Click Show to confirm that the key is generated. Take note of the key.

Please keep the key a secret because it allows external apps (e.g. Zapier) to make changes (e.g. create certificates) in your Momenial account. At any time, click Delete to delete the key and stop the integration.

Once you have the key, create a new project. Since we want to enter the recipients from Zapier, feel free to leave the recipients list empty. We just need to pick a design for the generated certificates. Take note of the project name.

On the Google Sheets side

Before going to Zapier, create a new Google Sheet document. Use the screenshot below as a reference:

You can call the document whatever you want and rename the sheet to anything you like (in the screenshot, it's called "From"), but make sure that at least you have the columns for name and email.

On the Zapier side

Zapier lets you set up automated workflows called "Zaps" that pass information between two or more apps easily and quickly—no code required. A Zap consists of a Trigger and an Action. A Trigger is an event that starts a Zap; an Action is an event a Zap performs.

For the purpose of this article, we want to automatically issue certificates via Momenial when a new row is added to a Google Sheets document. A new row is the Trigger, while certificate issuance is the Action.

Sign up or log in to Zapier and create a new Zap by clicking the Create button and choosing Zaps, as shown below:

When the graph editor is open, click 1. Trigger and search for Google Sheets in the popup dialog.

A panel will appear on the right-hand side. In the Event field, choose New Spreadsheet Row and click Continue.

Connect to your Google Account in the next step, and click Continue again. In the 3rd step, select the spreadsheet (document name) and the worksheet (sheet name) you created earlier, and click Continue to proceed to the final step.

In the final step, click Test to test the connection. You should see some records fetched from the spreadsheet you specified earlier. Click Continue with selected record to close it. You can't continue this tutorial if you don't see any records.

Another popup will automatically appear. If it doesn't, click 2. Action in the graph editor to open it, and choose Momenial. In the panel that follows, choose Create Certificate in the Event field. Click Continue to proceed.

In this second step, click Sign in to bring up a dialog:

Put the API Key you created earlier, and click Yes to submit and close the dialog. If you see any error, ensure your Momenial paid subscription is active and the key is correct.

Once the dialog is closed, click Continue to proceed to the 3rd step as shown below:

Remember the empty project we created earlier in Momenial? Select it from the Project dropdown. Map the Recipient Name with whatever column you designate as the "Name" in your sheet. The same goes with Recipient Email.

Click Continue to reach the final stage, and click Test step to let Zapier forward that sample data from Google Sheet to Momenial. Wait for a while, and click Publish to turn on the integration.

After a few minutes, open that empty project in Momenial, and you should see the recipient from Google Sheets.
